Points are awarded to the principal applicant on the basis of documented eligible full-time (or equivalent) experience within the 10 years prior to the submission of your case. Applicants who do not have a minimum of one full-time (or equivalent) year of eligible work experience may be refused automatically.

Part-time experience is valid, but only in its relative proportion to a standard full time work week (37.5 hours). For example, if you worked 19 hours per week in a part-time position, you would be awarded approximately 50% of a full-time work week. You are eligible to claim only one full time position of work experience within any given period of time. For example, if you worked 60 hours per week for one year, you would still only earn 1 full time year of experience.
